One of the 'lynch-pin' moments in the debunking of the 1914 doctrine was the fall of the USSR in the 90's.

Up until this point we declared, an albeit wrong, but acceptable prophetic framework for motivating the declaration of Christ's soon-to-rule-earth kingdom.

Once the supposed "King of the North" was collapsed by the "King of the South" the whole framework came into question [Daniel 11]

(... hindsight would seem to be 20/20)

This opened a gap in the true faithful expression, in my opinion, and is a key moment tracking when the apostasy began.

Basically, the leadership realized they were wrong, and began spreading out the couch.

The 'worship of men' prophesied to surround a group of 'leaders' declaring the day of Jehovah before "he has said anything". [Ezekiel 13, 2 Thess 2]

And instead of fixing these issues, they create a cult of personality.

The reason I mention this is to highlight the change in the JW prophetic understanding. The period of 'sleep' has come upon us.

It went from: a global order is forming around the nation-states and the UN, here are explicit details, now go warn people

To the present: nebulous blah Babylon the Great nebulous blah UN attack blah, now go inform people of how to lead a stress-free life

    Blah!

JWs were the ORIGINAL conspiracy theorists in the 20th century. The MOST on target framework for understanding the prophecies.

I hear some of these youtube / TV 'prophets' and you can see they jacked their understanding from the Revelation Grand Climax book. I even saw one of them use a picture from it once!

Now where are we? And where is it going? With a 100 year+ view, it's fairly easy to see.

Absolutely agreed! I'm happy for you brother!!

What I would say, to put this into context, is that just like I would have been interested in the Jewish Messiah in ~400 BCE (as a person of the nations), and looked to Israel, hence I am interested in how this will wrap-up in the second covenant.

So I attempt to formulate frameworks for understanding how Jehovah is operating on this planet regarding the manifestation of the prophecies.

At best, the mainstream Christian system is Samaria .. at worst, Babylon the Great. The 'cults' will overthrow these entrenched false Christs via the spirit IMO.

Jehovah's Witnesses are not only the foremost cult, the most hated Christian sect, they have a reasonable set of doctrines that disprove the Catholic-system which dominated the nation-states for 1700 years. On top of that, we kick doors down telling people about the coming kingdom -- recent changes aside LOL

It seems to me a small rabbit (JWs) are charging toward a running bull (the anti-Christian nation-states).

    Collision imminent.

I know people who are NOT going to submit. They may be blind RE the Governing Body right now ...

But there is no scenario by which they stop preaching the kingdom.

I keep waiting for the GB to present their next understanding of who they think the King of the North is.

That's a time frame of about 25 years. Surely they have some inkling, as to who they think it might be, even if they're not 100% certain of its identity.

And you can be sure that when they do reveal the new identity (most likely the BRICS), that it will be a distraction from the incoming judgment against them.

As stated in a recent Watchtower "then won't be the time to preach the kingdom".

Setting up the impetus for a premature end to the ministry.
