Have you ever wondered what kind of prophetic pattern is in the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt?
The Bible says that everything that was written before was written as learing examples for the future. So logically the exodus and and staying in the wilderness should be a pattern of a future event for God's people.
What are your thoughts on that?

I agree the entire Exodus narrative has prophetic pinnings in end times fulfillment...

The exodus was definitely a huge apocaliptic event with all the wonders Jehovah performed through Moses, the 10 plagues and more. I was really facinated by this story when I was a kid. I remember when we got the 2 audio dramas on cassettes about the exodus and the 40 year wandering in the wilderness.
Apparently at that time the wt-organization appreciated this story.
And then they made the video about the flight from Jerusalem in the first century. I think Jesus as the head of the congregation directed the organization to draw our attention to these events. But the organization has still not come with any additional information what our flight will be about and where.

Apparently there has to happen a wide scale persecution so that brothers will be motivated to undertake a flight.

That is in accord with Revelation 12
Now when the dragon saw that it had been hurled down to the earth, it persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child. But the two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, so that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is to be fed for a time and times and half a time away from the face of the serpent.
