In my research of the WT Society's affiliation with the UN from 1992 to 2001, it is clear to me that the organization acted wrongly by getting involved with that Satanic organization.

Yet, when I share this with other JWs on the Internet, I am met with dismissals and justifications. No matter what evidence/documentation I put forward verifying that NGO DPIs are required to support UN values, JWs continue to believe the lie that it was all for a library card and that the rules for NGO DPIs "changed" post agreement. The JW org has outright lied to JWs with these claims in order to pacify them. It makes me think of 2 Thessalonians 2:11, "That is why God lets a deluding influence mislead them so that they may come to believe the lie."

It is clear to me that many JWs will defend the org no matter what. The UN debacle is just the beginning. When did being a Christian evolve into defending everything our religious organization does? We should be keeping them accountable when they err, yet there is 0% accountability for those at the top! They have set it up that way. There's more accountability toward a rank-and-file JW who attends a church bake-sale or the YMCA pool! The double standard is immense. The JW org is becoming increasingly church-like in its tyranny and refusal to accept accountability. Their errors are mounting and yet JWs continue to defend, defend, defend.

    You are Wise.

Marsh, Jehovah said it would be like this.

    Read Jeremiah 5:31, Isaiah 66:5, 28:13, 42:18+, Ezekiel Chapters 13, 14 and 22.

We can only warn them ahead of time, so that hopefully they remember these words at the appropriate time.

I am glad you finally see what myself, the bros/sis here, perimeno and e-watchman have seen. It is no coincidence that everyone has come to the same conclusion through their own means.
I am not boasting, when I think about it, I become anxious.

I understand this to be a part of the "beating of the fellow slaves" that Christ warned of in Matthew 24:48-49. The organization pummels us over the head with their requirements while quietly sweeping under the rug anything they should be held accountable for....

I agree that this double standard is ridiculous, and what makes me sad is that this crazy standard for the average JW has seeped into the expectations and judgments extended toward one another. There seems to be so much concern for what others are doing, at times moreso than what each person is doing themselves!

I've learned to take this less personally, but as someone who came into the congregation later in life, already knowing TTATT, I've found myself particularly sensitive to it. For example, a kind and well meaning sister let me know that one of the more strict, vocal sisters had complained a few times about a few (literally 3) screenshots I had shared on my Instagram from a video game I enjoy. I was glad my friend shared as I of course don't want to offend or stumble anyone, so I removed the images. No biggie, I don't care if I have them out there - but she had complained to others enough that it was mentioned to me. Fast forward a couple of years and this same sister is telling me she attends a yoga class at our gym. Head/desk.

Can't we just allow people to exercise their own personal consciences? Maybe it's mostly among the sisters because we're prone to bring cackling hens, but the ways in which we judge and involve ourselves in these little crevices of one another's lives isn't made better by the attitude that the society promotes.

The religion would be a lot more tolerable if that were the case.

We're stuck in the Fibonacci cycle; the entire Christian system.

And it has to be this way:

"Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, "Do not go beyond what is written." Then you will not be puffed up in being a follower of one of us over against the other."

    - 1 Cor 4:6

Currently, Jehovah's Witnesses seem to be compressing the algorithm, rather than allowing it to expand.

And perhaps ... for good reason.
